Research Funding in the Time of Corona

Updated 06 August 2020.

The NIH has provided these updated resources:

————————————————–

Around the globe, research institutions and businesses that rely on grant (non-dilutive) funding are facing special challenges due to the direct and indirect effects of COVID-19. Shortages of resources and efforts to minimize exposure/spread have upended the usual procedures and flows of information. In light of this, I am curating information about all aspects of grants and grant-funded projects during this time, from applications to management to implementation.

I work with clients on funding opportunities from governments and foundations around the world. I will include information here that reflects that scope, but it’s a process, so please be patient and check back often. I have started with US information but will expand as I can.

Have a valid resource you find valuable but I haven’t listed? Please add it to the comments! You can also follow me on Twitter for current news: @JKNByram

Have a question about NIH grants? It’s probably answered in this video…

The NIH has released a FAQ video for those applying for funding and those managing awards. Are late applications being accepted? Can I be paid my salary from my grant although my institution is shut down? And many more. 17 March 2020

Clinical Trials Postponed

Clinical trials already in process or scheduled for the near future have been put on hold for supply, personnel, and exposure issues. But what about those anticipated trials farther out on the horizon? They may be pushed back, too, as lab closures stall the prerequisite animals studies. Read more here.
